In traditional care industry practice we offer various sized Nursing Home rooms on a rental basis from stays as little as one week. Over time, many people return when they're feeling a little under the weather, after a stay in hospital, or even (believe it or not) for a short respite and well-being break, otherwise known as a holiday.
Our rooms are categorised as 3*, 4* and Deluxe, the ratings relate to size and some take into account the views of our 48 acre estate. Nearly all of our rooms have an ensuite W.C. and basin, and a handful also have an ensuite shower.
For those that choose to move in with long-term care in mind, the option to purchase an Apartment becomes available. A new home to call your own, where you can still receive Full Nursing Care 24 hours a day.
Each Apartment is unique in its footprint and when designing we worked to embrace as many original house features as possible. Some are suitable for couples, and all come with wet-room facilities.
The apartments are 'sold' on the basis of a 'Licence to Occupy' allowing the occupier to live in freely, and personalise as they wish. One of our residents even hired an interior designer to make it perfect for her.
The price is determined by the size and position within Birtley House; such amount being fully refundable after the individual leaves, and the apartment is re-sold.
An apartment debenture ranges from £250,000 to £500,000, and they are usually funded as the result of a property sale.
The monthly fees for each apartment depends on the personal care dependency level and includes all meals, cleaning, laundry, ironing, varied activities programme, events and access to 24hr nursing care. The fees are where you make the saving, as there are considerable reductions for those who make this choice. At the end of the time in the apartment, it is sold on to the next person, and your initial investment is refunded. Based on all previous Apartment owners, the average saving has exceeded a huge 25% during the time occupied.
