Social Care
Although a full and active lifestyle as part of the vibrant community at Birtley House is encouraged, residents are always welcome to enjoy some peace and solitude while reading a book in homely surroundings or relaxing in our beautiful grounds, whenever they prefer. We always respect personal wishes and residents have the freedom to control their own daily routine, wherever possible.
Activities
Birtley House prides itself on a very varied activities programme. Full of imagination and thought the aim is to attract as many residents as possible to join in the structured activities or outings which take place 5 times a week. View our monthly activities programme.
Chaplain
Our Church of England Chaplain, Rev. Judy Potter, spends two afternoons per week at Birtley, providing pastoral care to the residents and staff. Holy Communion is held every month and the Roman Catholic team also visit regularly.
